Do you share my love for Peeps? The crunchy little sugar crystals on the outside, the gooey marshmallow goodness on the inside… It’s just the perfect little holiday treat!
…But wait, is it possible to improve on such utter perfection? I know how you can make ANYTHING better… put it on a stick and dip it in chocolate, DUH!
I call it “Pimping My Peep” and here’s how you do it:
You’ll Need
- Bunny Peeps
- White Chocolate Candy Melts
- Lollipop Sticks
- Confetti Sprinkles (I bought Wilton’s Flowerful Medley mix because I’ll be using the other sprinkles for another Easter treat)
- Sanding sugar – Whatever colors you like
- Candy for the nose (or you could just use another color round or heart sprinkle)
- Food Writer
- Mini Marshmallows (optional)
Separate out your white confetti sprinkles to make the eyes. Draw little circles with your edible ink Food Writer.
Now you’re ready to melt your chocolate. Use a bowl deep enough to cover most of your Peep. My favorite dipping receptacle is my hubby’s cheesy coffee mug.
It says “Consulting”…. “If you’re not part of the solution, there is good money to be made in prolonging the problem”… Just a little NeRd humor
Melt your chocolate according to package instructions. My favorite method is the microwave. Just don’t forget to set your power level down or you’ll burn your chocolate beyond repair!
Dip your stick in a little bit of chocolate before inserting into your Peep. This will help the Peep stick to the stick.
Let them dry for a few minutes before you begin dipping.
Dip your Peep completely in chocolate coating and tap off excess chocolate. Place on a wax sheet or stick into a foam block to dry.
Allow your Peep to harden for a few minutes and sprinkle with different colored sanding sugar. I bought a sprinkle variety pack from the Target dollar spot that had pink and purple sugar, as well as other spring sprinkles that I used to make baby chicks (which I hope to post soon).
At this point, if you’re not too ambitious you can just stop right here. They look adorable just dipped in chocolate and dusted in sprinkles. If you want to get fancy, you can decorate the bunny as I did or use your own style. Have fun with it!
Can you guess what these are? Well, you want your “pimped” Peep to look good from BACK too right? These are little cotton tails for your bunny. Take mini marshmallows and cut a two crossing slits. Smush it down with your fingers to make it look like a fluffy tail. Attach to bunny’s backside with a little bit of melted chocolate as glue.
Bunny Got Back!
Ok, now you’re ready to finish off the face. Add eyes and nose using a toothpick to dab on melted chocolate as glue.

Your Peep has officially been “Pimped”!
I couldn’t resist just one more bunny booty shot
Hope you liked my tutorial!
